Books in my life

1. Books play an important role  in our life. "Books and friends should be few but good," says an English proverb. 
2. Books are our friends in a real sense. They demand nothing from us. They give us plenty of joy. We also learn a lot from them. They take us into a different world of imagination.
3. Books are not only entertainment. They help us in self-education, and also to imagine the future, to look into the past. Books develop our intellect, our soul.
4. As for me, I like to read books in my free time. Books help me to go away from life problems, to get into another world. I like various literature directions and authors. It depends on my mood which book I take to read.
5. Sometimes it can be a detective story or romantic novel; sometimes it can be only a short story or fairy tales.
6. Every book gives birth to special inner world in my mind and in my soul.
7. One of my favourite books is a story by O.Henry “The Gift of the Magi['meɪʤaɪ]”.
8.  The plot alone—a young woman sells her long beautiful hair to buy her husband a fob chain for his prized watch, only to discover that he has sold his watch to buy a set of tortoiseshell['tɔːtəʃʃel] combs for her vanished hair—is enough to make the story a classic about the spirit of Christmas.
9. I like to imagine main characters of my favorite books, their clothes, and faces. It is difficult for me to leave the characters in the end of the books.
